Our Staff
John C. Hopewell, III is the president of and managing member of the company and an attorney with over 15 years of experience handling transactional real estate related matters. In a general commercial practice for the better part of the first half of his professional legal career, he also shared the firm’s responsibilities for clients with real property and commercial litigation concerns. As a notary public since 1984, he had already witnessed the closing of a multitude of transactions prior to his entrance into and graduation from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center on the campus of Louisiana State University. In 1999, he began limiting his practice to the real property side of the practice and went to work exclusively for a title company with several offices in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. His work there required him to open a new branch office in Zachary Louisiana, while supervising one of the other title company offices in the area. In 2006, he formed Certain Title & Escrow, LLC and went out on his own, moving the operations to Zachary to take advantage of the opportunities he saw there first hand.
Wendy Boyd is the senior closing secretary in the Zachary office. With many years of escrow agent experience as a closing professional as well as a legal secretary, Wendy is capable of handling all of the many tasks necessary to close a transaction. The closing process continues to be most document intensive and only those with extensive experience will cope. Wendy is every mindful of the necessity of continued training and education and she brings this dedication to the table.
Elizabeth Hubbard is a pre-closing specialist with the company. Its newest member, Liz has over 5 years of real property and legal secretarial experience. With responsibilities that include all pre-closing and client information functions, she assists the other members of the company in information gathering, scheduling, and document preparation.
Buyers, sellers, mortgage companies, banks and builders all call Certain Title home.
